Good Change Leadership Formats for Organizations and Leaders

Leadership for Times of Change

Good Change Workshop: Zusammenarbeit klären und nächste Schritte vereinbaren

Leadership today is not only about building on the past. It is about consciously shaping what comes next.

When familiar answers are no longer enough, leaders need the ability to sense what a situation, a team, or an organization requires. They create direction, navigate change, and make decisions in the face of uncertainty and differing perspectives.

My work with leaders creates space to develop these capacities. Through reflection, dialogue, and learning from experience, leaders gain greater clarity, strengthen their ability to work across differences, and identify meaningful ways forward.

This work is particularly valuable when...

  • leaders are looking for greater clarity and confidence in their leadership.

  • new challenges call for different ways of leading, collaborating and making decisions.

  • leaders need to navigate different perspectives across teams, functions or locations.

  • current leadership challenges require fresh perspectives, new possibilities and opportunities to learn through practice.

Ways of Working

Leadership Retreats & Offsites
For leaders and leadership teams to step back, make sense of complex situations, and find direction for what comes next.

Leadership Programs
Leadership learning journeys that combine retreats, workshops, and periods of practice over several months. Participants work on real challenges and bring new insights directly into their day-to-day leadership.

Peer Learning & Reflection
Leaders work on real challenges from their professional context together with peers. Through reflection, dialogue and collective learning, they gain new perspectives and develop practical next steps.

What Becomes Possible

  • Clarity about what matters most

  • Decisions grounded in a deeper understanding of the situation

  • Greater trust and collaboration across teams and perspectives

  • Direction and the ability to act in times of uncertainty

  • The courage to explore new approaches and take responsibility

Example project:

Authentic Leadership Program | UNIQA

For leaders with cross-functional responsibilities at UNIQA, a leadership program combined a retreat with ongoing practice-based learning.

Participants explored real leadership challenges through reflection, dialogue and experiential practices. The program created space to gain new perspectives, strengthen collaboration across functions and identify meaningful next steps.Following the retreat, participants were supported in bringing their insights into their day-to-day leadership practice.

"The retreat helped me gain clarity about where I stand and the kind of leader I want to be. I left with a clearer sense of direction and concrete next steps for my leadership practice."

How I work:

I work with the experience, perspectives and knowledge that participants already bring.

Current challenges are not only discussed but made visible and tangible. Through dialogue, perspective shifts and experiential practices, participants explore relationships, dynamics and different perspectives. This leads to a deeper understanding of the situation and what it requires.

From there, clarity emerges and meaningful next steps become visible.

My work is inspired by Theory U (Otto Scharmer, MIT) and combines facilitation and coaching with experiential approaches such as Social Presencing Theater. Body and voice are included as sources of awareness and insight.

A question that has accompanied me throughout my work is: What creates the conditions for meaningful collaboration and lasting results?

In my experience, leadership is shaped not only by what leaders do, but also by the place from which they lead. A clear sense of purpose, an awareness of the larger context, and an understanding of the future they want to contribute to influence how decisions are made and how change unfolds. This is what my work with leaders is designed to support.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from a leadership retreat?

Leaders bring current challenges and questions from their day-to-day work. The retreat usually takes place away from the workplace, ideally in a setting with access to nature.

Participants reflect on their current situation, explore leadership challenges from different perspectives, and develop new ways of responding to real situations.Through dialogue, shared learning, and experiential exercises, they gain greater clarity, deepen their understanding of how they lead, and identify concrete next steps they want to explore in their work.

Who are the leadership retreats designed for?

The retreats can be designed for leaders with different levels of experience and responsibility, from emerging leaders to senior executives. What matters most is a willingness to reflect on one's leadership practice, consider different perspectives, and navigate change with greater awareness and clarity.

Do participants work on real leadership challenges?

Yes. The retreats are built around the actual questions, decisions, and challenges participants are facing in their leadership roles.

Rather than working with case studies, participants bring their own situations into the process. This creates practical insights and a direct transfer into everyday leadership.

How is a leadership retreat tailored to our organization?

Each leadership retreat is designed around the specific context, challenges, and aspirations of the organization.

The process begins with conversations to understand the current situation, the questions leaders are facing, and what the organization hopes to make possible through the retreat.

The retreat design is then adapted to these needs while creating enough space for participants to bring their own experiences and questions into the process.

What role do embodiment and experiential practices play?

Reflection and dialogue are an important part of the retreats. I also work with movement, spatial exercises, and other experiential practices that help participants engage with a situation through direct experience.

These approaches make relationships, dynamics and different perspectives more visible. They support awareness, deepen understanding, and open up new possibilities for action.

How many participants can join a leadership retreat?

Leadership retreats can be designed for different group sizes, depending on the purpose and context.Smaller groups often allow for more individual attention and exchange, while larger groups can benefit from a wider range of perspectives and a deeper understanding of the system, relationships, and dynamics they are part of.

Together with my colleague Ganna Pidgorna, we facilitate retreats and leadership programs for groups of up to 50 participants.

Can leadership retreats take place within our organization?

Leadership retreats are designed to take place away from the workplace.Stepping out of the everyday environment creates space for reflection, perspective shifts, and deeper learning. It becomes easier to pause, gain distance from current challenges, and explore new possibilities together.

Whenever possible, I choose locations with access to nature, as they support reflection, conversation, and insight.
