Leadership, Collaboration and Change

When important decisions need to be made, collaboration is being reshaped, or different perspectives need to come together, quick answers are often not enough.

Together, we look at the situation as it is — at what is visible and at the dynamics beneath the surface. This creates a shared understanding of what is needed now and where to focus next.

From there, shared direction and meaningful next steps can emerge.

On behalf of the entire team of Cultural Agents Berlin, I would like to thank Bärbel for her dedicated work with us.

We were looking for support with a complex process of reflection, conflict clarification, and team development. With Bärbel, we found deep expertise, thoughtful guidance, and a strong sensitivity to our specific context. As we repositioned ourselves, clarified future goals, and reorganized roles and responsibilities, Bärbel accompanied our team and program into its next phase.
We greatly appreciate her professional, attentive, and context-sensitive way of working with the diversity within our team.

Bärbel understood what was needed and stepped in when it mattered.

As facilitator of the 3rd Berlin Engagement Conference with 180 participants, Bärbel was present, attentive, and quick to understand what was needed. When a workshop leader unexpectedly dropped out, she stepped in immediately. As a result, we were able to move through the one-and-a-half-day conference feeling calm and secure and could focus fully on the content. The preparation meetings were equally impressive: thoughtful, goal-oriented, and guided by a quick understanding of both the situation and what we were trying to achieve.

Our goal was to develop the conference from a stand-alone event into a format that would help shape the themes and priorities of the year ahead. That worked. Three forums emerged from the workshops, creating a clear roadmap for continuing the work. It was obvious that Bärbel understood what mattered to us and what we were trying to achieve.

I have worked with Bärbel Becker in a variety of professional contexts and settings and have always greatly appreciated our collaboration.

She supported several events for the “Berliner Kiebitze” special education service, both as part of a facilitation duo and on her own.
From the planning workshop at the start of the project, through an evaluation workshop at the end of the three-year project phase, to an event for the new Berlin-wide team, Bärbel guided us with clarity, care, and reliability. She also provided valuable support in coaching sessions.
Professionally and personally, Bärbel is someone we highly value and warmly recommend.

Bärbel guided our group through a challenging change process – with a presence that I still vividly recall.

What particularly impressed me was: Bärbel always kept both in mind: the individual people, their needs, their rhythm, as well as the common goal. Her workshops felt both open and guided – a well-balanced equilibrium. I would work with her again anytime.

A Safe and Supportive Space

I create a clear structure and a supportive space where difficult topics, different perspectives, and unspoken dynamics can become visible. I pay attention to how people relate to one another and to the dynamics that influence collaboration.

I care deeply about creating the conditions for people to listen, learn and find direction together.

Over the years, this has led me into facilitation, organizational development, leadership development and embodied practices. Across these different fields, I have seen that meaningful change becomes possible when different perspectives are welcomed, assumptions can be questioned, and space is created for genuine dialogue.

Whenever possible, I bring people into nature. Movement and a change of environment often open up new perspectives and make it easier to see familiar challenges in a different way.

Frequently Asked Questions

In what situations is this work helpful?

This work is helpful for organizations, teams, networks, and leaders who are facing important decisions, navigating change, or seeking clarity in complex situations.

Typical situations include leadership transitions, challenges in collaboration, organizational change, or moments when people need to step back, make sense of what is happening, and decide what comes next.

What does a typical collaboration look like?

Every collaboration begins with an initial conversation. Together, we look at the current situation, the core challenge, and the question that needs attention.

From there, we design a format that fits the context, such as a workshop, facilitation, leadership lab, or a longer-term process. The scope and duration depend on the needs of the organization and the nature of the challenge.

What does embodied practice mean in an organizational context?

Embodied practice means not only thinking about a situation, but also perceiving it through all of our senses.

Simple awareness and movement-based exercises can help reveal patterns in collaboration, leadership, and decision-making that often remain hidden in conversation alone. The practices are accessible, practical, and require no prior experience.

This is not about performance. It is about seeing the situation more clearly. New perspectives and possibilities for action can be explored and experienced directly, rather than only discussed.

How does this work support decision-making and change?

The most important challenges in organizations are often not purely technical. People experience the same situation differently, different interests are at play, and the next step is not always obvious.

This work creates space to notice what is actually happening, what needs attention, and what the situation requires now. As a result, greater clarity emerges about what truly matters and where energy is needed.

With this clarity, decisions become easier, new possibilities come into view, and change can be shaped with a stronger sense of shared direction.

Are shorter formats possible?

Yes. Not every collaboration needs to begin with a longer process.A workshop, facilitation, leadership lab, or team day can be a valuable way to address a specific challenge, strengthen collaboration, or prepare for an important next step, either in person or online.

Sometimes a single intervention is enough. In other cases, it becomes clear that a longer process would be helpful. The scope and duration always depend on the situation and the needs of the organization.
